Galaxy Z Fold 6 may not have Wi-Fi 7 support

Samsung is preparing to introduce its flagship foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 6. After successfully passing the FCC test, some rumors about the device have started to surface. Galaxy Z Fold 6 may not support Wi-Fi 7. Of course, we know that the development cost of foldable devices is high, but it is rumored that Wi-Fi 7, which is even available on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, will not be available on the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 might not do so well with connectivity

The South Korean company has been developing the Galaxy Z Fold 6 for a long time. Shortly before the introduction of the foldable device, it is now going through the final stages. Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will not offer significant improvements. However, we think that high performance processor, improved camera software, and many innovations will be included in the foldable device compared to the previous generation.

Recently, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 also passed FCC certification and no Wi-Fi 7 support was encountered. This suggests that both devices will not offer advanced features when it comes to connectivity. We think Xiaomi’s upcoming MIX FOLD 4 and MIX Flip foldable devices will have the latest Wi-Fi 7 support. There will also be satellite communication support in the Chinese versions of the devices. Even Chinese competitor Xiaomi offers such support, which shows that Samsung needs to improve its devices a little more in terms of connectivity.

We’re looking forward to Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in July. Alongside foldable devices, the Galaxy Watch FE, Galaxy Watch Ultra and the new Galaxy Ring are expected to be launched.
